<p>I'm looking forward to the one on February 17, 2009. That's the day he'll announce that the "multi-year" contract with at&t is over and he'll unveil the Video iPhone and the iTablet. </p> <p>With no more at&t contract, the 2nd Generation iPhone with video chat capability leapfrogs the 3G networks. It's a 4G machine, taking advantage of the newly available 700Mhz spectrum to connect you to an IPv6 gateway to the internet. (They'll call them "hotspots" but they'll be anywhere you can currently get a TV signal.) It will still have a SIM slot and will be able to be used on traditional cellular networks, but Apple will bet that "ubiquitous WiFi" will be the preferred method of getting online. </p> <p>The iTablet will be introduced with much derision as it doesn't run Mac OS X. It will still be a success, thanks to the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK with which it is compatible. It will also introduce a "split thumbpad" method of text input, allowing you to hold it like a large PSP and type in the corners. </p> <p>...and one more thing: dotMac is now free and every Apple device supports "Back to My Mac" - now you truly have everything with you all the time. </p> <p>Less than 375 days to go!</p>
