The committed retro gamers down at
Destructoid have come up
with a creative adaptation of the much loved 2D NES classic, Super Mario
Brothers. As always, the same rules apply - beat every level, defeat Bowser,
and save Princess Peach. If you’re a purist then you’ll probably not going to enjoy
this at all, yet the 3D perspective does inject some life into this tried and
tested formula. Controlling Mario is distinctly different, and the task of
killing Koopas is a whole new challenge altogether. Indeed, barring the
expected glitches, this is a great proof of concept and a welcome creative
twist on one of the gaming classics.
