From time to time, you may want to grab some text from a document, invoice, magazine or other printed literature, for a quotation, legal document or other reason. SimpleOCR 3.1 is a simple but basic free OCR engine that will enable you to take machine-printed pages and then convert them in to words. It will also support handwriting, although the free version will only convert this type of document for 14 days from installation. You don't have to have scanned in a document to convert - if someone emails you a document, you can run this through SimpleOCR 3.1 for conversion.
