OpenOffice receives a minor upgrade

  • Tweet this

Logonew We recently posted some forward information about the forthcoming OpenOffice 3, which is due to hit public beta in around September this year. Many new features are planned for this major release, so any interim update for the existing OpenOffice 2.x will be minor. More security and fixes than new updates.

OpenOffice 2.4 has been made available, with a long list of minor updates, fixes and enhancements. If you're an existing user of OpenOffice, it's worth upgrading. You can use the fully-fledged Microsoft Office compatible office suite to open and read or write to Word and Excel documents, as well as save in the open office document format, which is used by the recent Lotus Symphony.
