We're advocates of taking your files and work on the road, using a portable device such as a flash drive or even your iPod. There's no reason why you couldn't take important applications, files and your work files with you, installed on your iPod Classic. One application you may ignore is an archive management tool, but if you're presented with an archive, the host operating system may not be able to handle or open the archive contents. If you can't install an application, you're stuffed.

PeaZip Portable 2.2 is an archive manager that will enable you to open, extract and work with different archives, including ZIP, TAR and RAR files. It will handle the alternative ZIP format, 7Z and will even recognise ISO files, so you can extract files shipped as an ISO image.
