We spent a lot of time on this blog whilst
Firefox 3 was in development keeping you informed with the forthcoming release. It dragged on for months. The first beta was very delayed. Now
Firefox 3.0 is available and is proving to be a success. It was worth the wait. Now we have Firefox 3 beta 1 available, with beta 2 already in development and due for release soon. The official release of
Firefox 3.1 should be before the end of this year.
There are a range of improvements due for
Firefox 3.1 For instance, Google Chrome ships with an incognito mode which enables you to surf the web in private, without anyone else being able to follow your web trail. Something similar is planned for
Firefox 3.1, although this feature isn't part of beta 1. New beta 1 features include a new version of the Gecko rendering engine, support for CSS 3, a tab-switching shortcut that will enable you to quickly move across open tabs by viewing a preview of the open web page and support for recent web developments.
