junky-staysafe.gifUse your computer online, even if it's to keep in touch with friends, and you run the risk of being a target for identity fraud. The problem with social networking sites is that it offers both your friends and other users a way to find your name, date of birth, contact email address and more. The first step is to attempt to change your password for your email account. They only need key personal info to gain access. Once inside, they may find other information that leads them to access an online account such as your PayPal login info.

Get Safe Online is a new government-backed UK site that gives you detailed information about the potential threats, how to protect your machine and, of course, various download links that enable you to obtain security software. However, refer to vnunet.com and you can find the latest anti-virus and other security tools, including Secuni PSI which we discussed this morning.

Get Safe Online
and vnunet.com links.
