Often mistaken for the oldest web browser, Internet Explorer is still the number one browser for many Internet users and has been for a number of years. However, one downside with Internet Explorer is that updates are few and far between and this lead people to begin looking for alternatives. There are now a number of very able and sometimes preferred options which include Firefox and Opera, but there are good alternatives based on IE itself.

Avant Browser 11.7 is a browser with a very similar look and feel to IE, but ships with numerous extra options. One useful feature is the ability to deactivate selected elements of web pages from pictures and flash animation to pop-ups. Another advantage is that it's reasonably lightweight, making it fast.
