Peer-to-peer file sharing has had its fair share of dad press and we all remember the controversy surrounding Napster in its early years, and even now there are still a few applications such as Limewire who still offer a free, stripped down alternative of their own software. Even though there are more 'legitimate' P2P solutions available, file sharing remains a controversial subject, and although developers are still producing applications based on the technology, it's ultimately the user that is in control of what they wish to share. 11 Feb 2009
