With constant always-on broadband, there are going to be situations where if you leave your PC online, people will attempt to find a backdoor or security hole in your computer. Once they gain access, they can either control aspects of your PC, embed a keylogger or use other spyware to monitor your computer use. However, most modern broadband modems now include a hardware firewall which means it's far more difficult for someone to find a potential hole.
