Quite rightly, a lot of music-loving friends were very sceptical of iTunes and the quality of the downloaded audio tracks. However, this has changed recently and particularly since Apple moved to introducing DRM-free tracks to the store. Instead of ripping tracks from CDs, the audio is sourced from their music studio and provided by the publisher. The tracks are also of a higher bit-rate (256Kbps), meaning the overall audio experience is far higher than previous tracks. Indeed, I've compared CDs and the same downloaded DRM-free iTunes audio tracks and those tracks seem far more dynamic than the same tracks on the CD.03 Jun 2009
