We've all used the Windows Explorer file manager at some point; it's a simple utility that enables you to perform maintenance tasks which include renaming, making backups and deleting unwanted data. As with most applications and utilities there are alternatives available. However, changing your file manager could vastly improve productivity and make boring maintenance tasks easier than ever. Another benefit of using a third-party replacement is that it enables you to customise certain areas of the explorer and even change the look and feel depending on personal preference. 12 Jun 2009
