Those of us who use a computer on a daily basis tend to have a
selection of freeware or shareware applications that we use regularly,
some of which are updated fairly often, monthly or sometimes even
weekly. These 'updates' may not be major, but they make applications
more stable. If you don't regularly visit download sites or software
publisher's sites, it may be more difficult to recognise newer versions
of installed software. A useful and convenient way of keeping software
updated is to use an auto-update tool, so you don't have to check
