Most of us just want to burn a disc, quickly. If you have lots of audio files on your computer, you don't want to have to spend time wading through various applications to produce a simply customised audio CD. For this reason, some of the smaller simple burning applications have become more popular, such as BurnAware Free. They don't do very much, apart from enabling you to create a simple data and audio CD. Nero have recognised this and produced a free version of their powerful disc burning suite.

Nero Free 9 is a cut-down version of the disc burning suite that does very little apart from burning a data or audio CD, with the minimum of fuss. If that's all you want, then this is an ideal application. If you want more, you can upgrade to the full commercial version of Nero 9.
